Meal replacement shakes have become incredibly popular in just the last few years, giving everyone the opportunity to lose a tremendous amount of weight without having to mess around with overly complex diets or having to banish your favourite foods forever just to drop a couple of quick bounds.

However, with so many different options to pick and choose from it can be a real nightmare trying to find the best meal replacement shake to move forward with – unless of course, you’re talking about Shakeology and IdealShape.

Idealshape vs Shakeology

Idealshake by Idealshape and Shakeology by Beachbody by far are the most popular meal replacement shakes in the market.

But if you want to be sure that you are choosing the perfect meal replacement shake to get the results that you are after, you’ll want to break down Idealshape vs Shakeology to see which one suits your needs right down to the ground!

Winner: Idealshake by Idealshape

By comparing the most important aspects of Idealshake and Shakeology, from my point of view, we have a clear winner.

Nutrition –  Shakeology vs Idealshape

As far as the nutritional value of Shakeology is concerned, you are looking at a meal replacement option that is swimming in essential vitamins and minerals, effortlessly pushing you far past you were recommended daily intake with each and every serving.

At just 160 cals this is a meal replacement solution that will help you dramatically reduce your daily intake of calories all while providing you with a flood of proteins and powerful carbs for maintaining your energy levels throughout the day.

On the other hand, Ideal Shape only has about 11 g of protein compared to the 17 g in every serving with Shakeology, but it also has a lot fewer total grams per serving (28 versus 42 g) which means your supply of Ideal Shape will last a lot longer and cost you less over time.

You’ll also find less sugar in Ideal Shape, more potassium, and a lower level of carbohydrates so that you can cut a lot faster.

How well do these shakes inhibit your appetite?

The Ideal Shape formulation takes advantage of a variety of different starches and fibers to act as filler agency newer digestive system, completely destroying any crazy cravings or thoughts of binging that you may be going through.

Shakeology doesn’t necessarily leverage a specific blend of ingredients intended to help you inhibit your appetite and enjoy effortless portion control, but it does have a little bit of extra fiber that will help you feel full longer. If you need help controlling your portions, Ideal Shape is probably best for you.

How do these shakes compare as far as taste is concerned?

You aren’t going to find any meal replacement shakes that taste better than the ones provided by Shakeology.

Available in a ton of different flavors so that everyone has the chance to find their own favorite, you are going to be blown away by the options you’ll have when you decide to go in this direction.

Ideal Shape has fewer flavors available, but their chocolate is the most chocolatey – a big boost for those that have a sweet tooth.

The best way to review them both, see differences and decide which one is better is to compare them side by side.

So, in below, I am making full comparison of Idealshake VS. Shakeology.

Hunger Blockers –  Shakeology vs Idealshape

Shakeology

Shakeology shakes are thick when mixed up because they are full of different proteins and fibers.

To make a shake slightly less thick, I recommend mixing it with a watery beverage, such as water, skin milk, or fruit juice.

If you drink the entire shake, you can expect to go several hours without even thinking about getting something to eat.

Although the shakes really only have fiber as a hunger blocking ingredient, it works, so it has earned a high rating.

IdealShake

IdealShape combines fiber and “Slendesta”, a hunger blocker, to suppress your appetite.

Slendesta is an entirely natural extract from potato protein that helps your brain release CCK (Cholecystokinin).

This is a hormone in the body that lets you know you are full.

The 5 grams of fiber are excellent at filling you up physically. While I was drinking the shake, my hunger was well controlled for around 3 to 4 hours.

As a bonus to not feeling hungry, I also noticed that I felt like I had more energy.

Nutrition –  Shakeology vs Idealshape

Shakeology

There’s no way around it. With more than 70 healthy ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, probiotics, fiber, and more, Shakeology shakes indeed stand at the top of the crowded field when it comes to nutrients.

In fact, each serving supplies well over 50% of your Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) and gives you the energy you need to make it through the entire day!

With everything from barley and wheat grass to maca root and plenty of other “holistic” nutrients, it will get you feel healthy.

It’s important to check out the label because each flavor of shake has a slightly different number of calories, carbs, etc.

For example, Vanilla (one of their bestsellers) has 130 calories, 2 g of fat, 14 g of carbs, 16 g of protein, and 7 g of sugar in each serving.

IdealShake

This shakes does everything it’s supposed to nutritionally.

It provides 50% of your RDI for 20 minerals and vitamins, as well as 11 grams of fiber per serving.

With 4 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugar, it supports overall good health.

Amazingly, you get all this for only 120 calories per shake.

This provides plenty of rooms to mix things in if you are in the mood for a meal replacement smoothie.

Taste –  Shakeology vs Idealshape

Shakeology

While most meal replacement shakes only come in vanilla or chocolate, Shakeology takes it much farther. They currently offer chocolate, vegan chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and Greenberry. If you are new to Shakeberry shakes,

I suggest you try the “Taste Sampler,” so you can decide which flavors you want to buy in bulk. Now, I’m not a fan of Greenberry, but that may just be me. I think it has an almost grassy taste, which I didn’t particularly enjoy. However, you may like it.

My favorite flavor tends to alternate between chocolate and vanilla. The delicious chocolate taste is comparative to eating a dark chocolate bar. They all have an aftertaste (It would be impossible, not to when you consider the 70 plus nutrients), but it works with the chocolate. Vanilla has a slightly sweet, vanilla flavor (kind of like the milk at the bottom of your cereal bowl) but is overall pretty dull.

I like this because it means you can combine it with almost anything. Finally, strawberry isn’t one of my favorites when you just mix it with Almond milk. However, when you blend in some real bananas and strawberries, it’s quite tasty. Overall, the chocolate and vanilla are quite right while the strawberry also tastes good if you doctor it up a bit.

IdealShake

IdealShake is available in 3 flavors: chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.

Sure, I can’t ask for anything more, but I’m going to do it anyway.

IdealShake, I want more flavors!

Don’t think that I am saying this because I didn’t like the shakes I tried.

They were awesome, especially the chocolate and vanilla.

It would just be nice to see a little more variety thrown into the mix.

If drinking the same kind of shake always is getting a tad boring, there is a free smoothie recipe book that I found.

So, I’m going to have to deduct a few points for lack of variety, but offering free recipes earned them a few bonus points.

Value –  Shakeology vs Idealshape

Shakeology

Due to the surplus of high-quality ingredients, Shakeology ends up costing around $129.95 a month or $4.33 a serving.

While this is slightly more expensive that most other meal replacement shakes, they don’t come close to offering all the nutrients that Shakeology does.

Hey, you get what you pay for!

Now, let’s go back to that $4.33 a serving cost.

Keep in mind that your Shakeology shake is replacing your entire meal when you drink it, whether that’s breakfast, lunch or dinner.

How often can you find a meal (that is both healthy and filling) for that small a price?

I mean even a McDonalds Egg McMuffin, hash brown, and drink are going to cost around $5 plus you’ll be hungry again soon after you eat.

When you break it down, Shakeology shakes are an excellent value.

IdealShake

One of the best things about meal replacement shakes is how much money they can save you.

After all, one serving of a replacement shake usually costs around $1.50 or less.

Where would you ever find a meal for such a small price that is right for you and fills you up?

IdealShake is available for as little as $1.33 per serving.

That’s one of the best shake prices you can find.

Anytime a shake goes for $1.50 or less per meal; I will give it a 10.

As a bonus, IdealShake comes with a 30-day money back guarantee.

Overall Summary

It is very hard to announce the final winner in this comparison battle.

You are going to be able to get your hands on a supply of Ideal Shape for about $1.66 per serving, but you are going to have to spend close to $4.50 per serving for the same amount of Shakeology.

Both meal replacement shakes are great in terms of hunger blockers & nutrition facts.

The taste award goes to Shakeology, but the price goes to IdealShake by IdealShape.

So if you are not limited by budget, you will be fine with Shakeology. But, if money is important for you, like in my case, you should go with IdealShake.
