What is flaxseed oil good for? Have you ever wondered about this?

I will be honest; I didn’t think about that before. However, when I started to gain weight at an alarming rate and became quite fat, I had to.

As I was looking for solutions to my weight gain problem, my friends told me about flaxseed oil and its helpful weight loss.

Not one to believe what the people said, I took it upon myself to research this claim and find out if it was true or not.

So, Is Flaxseed Oil Good for Weight Loss?

When I set out to research flaxseed oil, the only question on my mind was whether it could solve my weight gain issue or not.

I was not sure that this oil would prove to be a magical cure for this problem of mine.

So, I took to the internet, consulted various health websites, and read some articles written on flaxseed oil and its benefits.

I was happy to find out that flaxseed oil was, in fact, quite good for weight loss.

While it is not a magical product that can help you lose weight instantly, it does help you in shedding those extra pounds.

How Does Flaxseed Oil Help in Weight Loss?

I found that flaxseed oil is considered so good for weight loss during my research because it contains ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), an omega-3 fatty acid.

According to Superfood Profiles, the ALA in flaxseed oil helps slow down our metabolism, regulating our blood sugar and insulin production, thus minimizing the body’s fat storage.

In addition to this, I also found out that flaxseed oil also boosts up thermogenesis as well, which is essentially a fat-burning process.

In short, flaxseed oil helps you in losing weight in a very natural manner.

Other Health Benefits of Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed oil is not just good for weight loss alone. While researching flaxseed oil, I learned that this oil has some other health benefits to offer.

  • Global Healing Centre states that flaxseed oil is good for patients with Crohn’s Disease and is also quite effective in reducing cholesterol levels.
  • Because of the high levels of ALA present in flaxseed oil, it is also helpful in reducing heart disease.
  • Flaxseed oil is also beneficial for hair and nail growth and can also reduce symptoms of menopause.
  • Research has also indicated that flaxseed oil is quite effective for a chronic condition like arthritis too.

Having so many health benefits, flaxseed oil is definitely something that we must include in our diets.

Flaxseed Oil is made from flax seed obviously, which is known as one of the best superfoods. Flaxseed has numerous health benefits, including weight loss.

How Much Flaxseed Oil Daily?

Live Strong stresses that although flaxseed oil is beneficial for weight loss, it carries many calories. Therefore, it is best to keep an eye on your intake of flaxseed oil.

Ensure that you do not consume more than a tablespoon of flaxseed oil daily, as overconsumption can get in the way of your weight loss.

I have found that flaxseed can be used best in salads as a base. Moreover, you can also add it to smoothies too but only in a small amount.

Another tip to remember when using flaxseed oil is always to use it cold. The reason for this is that this way, the omega-3 fatty acids present in flaxseed oil remain intact.

Flaxseed Oil Products that Work

While researching flaxseed oil, I found out that some flaxseed oil brands are available in the market.

However, not all of them are helpful in weight loss and don’t deliver on their promises.

I was fortunate enough to find some flaxseed oil products that did work and helped me in bringing down my weight.

Barlean’s flaxseed oil was the best that I found on the internet. It is cold-pressed and is absolutely fresh. This is the reason why it is the best-selling flaxseed oil in America.

Another of the flaxseed oil products that produced excellent results for me was Foods Alive’s Gold Flaxseed Oil. This product contains lignans which are found in ground flaxseeds and have some health benefits of their own.
